War In Spirit Soundtrack – Behind the Music

With the upcoming release of my film titled War in Spirit also comes the release of its soundtrack. Being that it is not just a film, but something that connects to a more meaningful purpose, I wanted the music to reflect that.

My main character, Jithaniel, without going into too much of the film’s story, is preparing for the adversaries that lie ahead of him. I’ve always loved finding meaning in a specific vision, and with this project I wanted to bring it all together and make it into a cohesive adventure.

A thrilling sense of preparation for what Jithaniel is up against

As mentioned earlier, one of the adversaries Jithaniel faces in the main War in Spirit trailer is his rival, Tearaxtacle. The soundtrack song “Facing Tearaxtacle” brings a thrilling sense of preparation for what Jithaniel is up against. The previous song, “When Rivals Meet,” introduces even more challenges that Jithaniel must face.

Getting into the main trailer for War in Spirit, it begins with a landscape of deserts along with Joshua trees, with a warm breeze flowing through them as thunder rumbles. Jithaniel begins a brisk run, preparing for the critical challenges that lie ahead of him. He starts to pace slowly, not knowing what to expect.

The next scene of the trailer shows what looks like a group of people in chains, waiting to be freed from their captivity. The caption “The Mission” appears, and one of Jithaniel’s rivals emerges with a sword, attempting to stop the mission. Another villain appears out of nowhere, adding even more thrill to the scene. The caption “The Challenge” raises the intensity even further.

The War In Spirit trailer song was the one I chose to place last on the soundtrack. A warrior woman hums a melodic tune along with heavy drums that land on each scene of the trailer. As the song goes on, she begins to hum and sing more intensely, fitting the theme of the film.

To me, music is what brings things together, and you can tie a certain theme song to your own life as well

I’ve always had a passion for music, and with this film journey, music plays an important role. I wrote a passage a while back about how I also hear and see music. To me, that is nature.

“Before this synthetic music in this day and age, there was the natural sound of life and nature the Creator gave us. If you look deep into sound, it’s a great sense we have! To me, the greatest music is the sound of nature, as the rhythm of our heartbeat plays along with its melody. Listen to nature; there’s great peace in it. There’s no mixing, no mastering, no limiters, no compressors, or any unnatural sounds to it. Rather, there’s pure beauty in the sound of Planet Earth and its nature.”

To me, music is what brings things together, and you can tie a certain theme song to your own life as well. It’s almost like having your own soundtrack to your life. And this is what War in Spirit is all about.

It’s not just a film.

It’s a sound.

It’s a mission.

It’s a purpose.
